Closing Ceremony 2017

Dear Parents and Friends, This coming Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM, we will be celebrating the completion of yet another successful school year. Please join us to honor our students at the closing ceremony to be held in the auditorium of the Winfield School. The doors for parents and guests will open at 10:15 AM. Our music teacher, Mrs.Tetzlaff, put together a medley of songs, which the students have been practicing for weeks and will enjoy sharing with you. I wish everybody a wonderful summer. Schulfest 2017

Dear Parents, I would like to remind you that on Saturday, April 29, the annual Schulfest will take place. Our students are looking forward to this event and will be playing various outdoor games with their classmates and teachers. Steuben Parade Committee Fundraiser

Hello Parents, The German-American Steuben Parade Committee of New Jersey will be having their annual fundraiser on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Rockaway Township, NJ. German Heritage Council of NJ Scholarship

The German Heritage Council of New Jersey is offering several scholarships for 2017 in amounts ranging from $500 – $1000.  A special scholarship, honoring the former chairman Ted Hierl, will be awarded to an exceptionally qualified candidate in the amount of $1000 or greater. The applicant must: Be a New Jersey high school senior. Either have a parent or grandparent of German heritage, who is currently a member of a German Club/organization, or have taken German classes. Breakfast Club

The first Saturday of every month during the school year, Deutsche Sprachschule (DSS) parents are invited to join in fellowship over a cup of coffee or a typical New Jersey Diner meal to share DSS stories, discuss issues and concerns, or swap ideas. The Kaffeeklatsch/Breakfast Club is a forum in which new parents can glean information from the experiences and knowledge of long-standing members on such things as future language certification, scholarship, and job opportunities for their students. Discussions about classroom environment, curriculum, and activities can also yield valuable feedback for DSS management and staff. Deutscher Club Scholarship

Dear Parents, The Deutscher Club of Clark awards a three week summer trip to an eligible student whose parents or grandparents have been members for the last three years. The trip is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German, a national organization that sets the requirements for applicants. Students must have two years of German experience, be 16 – 18 years old, and be enrolled in high school. Christmas Market 2016

Dear Members, On November 20th, the German School will be represented at the Christmas Market (Christkindl Markt) at the Deutscher Club of Clark. We invite you to visit our booth and sample delicious Christmas cookies, Lebkuchen, and Glühwein between 12 noon and 5 PM. New Adult Class Offering

Dear Students, I am pleased to inform you that we are now offering a new German course at the Deutscher Club of Clark, geared towards intermediate level students. This new class will be taught by Mr. Veniero, who has instructed Saturday courses at the German Language School for many years.
